Each year on the first Tuesday after the 15th August priests ordained from St Kieran’s College, and now ministering throughout the world, gather in the College Chapel for the annual priests’ reunion.
This year that date is the 22nd August and invites have been issued to those celebrating special jubilees and, in fact, via this posting and word of mouth to all those ordained from the College. In recent years good numbers gather on that afternoon to walk the grounds, to recall and to reminisce in this place they once called home for their years of formation.
The Mass of the Reunion will be led by Bishop Niall Coll, his first College Reunion since coming to Ossory as Bishop. As was the case last year the music for this years celebration will be provided by past pupils of the Secondary School.
The format of the Reunion is now a well established tradition – at 6pm following an easy afternoon of men catching-up the Reunion Mass will be celebrated in the College Chapel and this will be followed by a meal hosted by the College President and an opportunity following that to sit together into the night to once more recall fondly friendships many of which have lasted generations.
We look forward to welcoming these men who have given their lives in service throughout the world returning to their College of formation.
